IV. Lower limbs



下肢动作要虚实分明,进退轻灵。虚实分明是太极拳练习的重点,即



太极拳多是一腿负重多,另一腿负重少。负重多者为实,少者为虚,要避 免重心落于两腿中央(起收势除外)。进退轻灵即前进用脚跟着地,后退 用前脚掌先着地,然后再慢慢踏实,这样才能做到“迈步如猫行” O



The movement of lower limbs should be clear between empty and full. Step forward or backward slightly. Clearing the empty and the full is the important point of practicing Taiji Quan, which means that one leg bears more weight and another one bears less weight in Taiji Quan. The leg bearing more weight is full, and the another one bearing less weight is empty. Prevent the gravity from being between two legs ( except the beginning fbnn and the closing form). Dexterous in movement means that one should use the heel to touch the ground first, and then put the whole foot on the ground steadily. Thus one can achieve to "stepping like a cat**.
