Form XII: High Pat on Horse
1.右腿跟进半步,身体重心逐渐后移至右腿上;右勾手变成掌,两手 心翻转向上,两肘微屈;同时身体微向右转,左脚跟渐渐离地;目视左前方 (图 4-1-108)。
1. Move your right foot a half-step forward, gradually shifting your weight onto your right leg. Open your right hand and tum both palms up, elbows slighdy bent, while turning your body to the right slightly, raising your left heel gradually. Look at left forward (fig. 4-1-108).

3. Turn your body to the left slighdy, pushing your right palm forward past your right ear, palm facing forward, 图 4-1*108 keeping your fingertips at eye level, while moving your left hand to the front of your left hip, keeping your palm facing upward. At the same time, move your left foot forward a bit forward, keeping your toes on the ground to form a left empty stance. Look at your right hand (fig. 4-1-109).
动作要点:
(1)上体保持自然正直。
(2)双肩要下沉,右肘要下垂。
(3)移换重心时,身体不要有起伏。
Key points:
(1) Keep upper body straight.
(2) Lower the shoulders and sink down the right elbow.
(3) Keep steady when shifting gravity. Do not bend up or down.
实战作用:
当对手用左拳进攻我时,我用左手控制住其左手腕,随之迅速用右掌 或右拳击打对方面部,同时用左脚踢打对方下部。
Functions in fighting:
If the opponent strikes you with his left fist, you can catch his left wrist with your left hand, and then immediately hit his face with your right palm or right fist, and kick his private parts with left foot.
易犯错误:
做“跟步”移换重心时,容易出现身体起伏的现象。
Common errors:
Bend up or down when stepping forward with the back leg in follow to shift gravity.
更正方法:
(1)右脚跟步之前,左腿要先屈膝前顶,待身体重心移至左腿后再收 右腿。
(2)通过站虚步桩增强腿部肌肉力量。
Corrective measures:
(1) You should bend your left knee and lean it forward before stepping forward with the back leg in follow. After the gravity being shifted to the left leg completely, you can draw the back leg forward.
(2) Strengthen the muscles of your legs by practicing empty-stance- zhuang.
