Important Points

? When turning the foot inward, turn the torso to the left, landing the heel in front of the body, the toes turned inward. When turning the body, turn both feet, the left foot pivoting on the heel, and the right foot pivoting on the ball of the foot.

? When sweeping and threading the hands, first turn the right hand inward and draw the palm to the right in a small circular motion, and then turn the hand outward and move it to the left passing underneath the left elbow in an arc, and then to the right side of the body, passing the face, the palm facing to the right at shoulder height; turn the left hooked- hand outward and open it, sweep it past the face in a curve to the front of the right shoulder, and turn the left hand inward and lower it to under the inside of the right elbow, the palm facing to the right. The wrists are lowered, the fingers are extended, the webs between the thumbs and index fingers are open, the shoulders are relaxed and the hips are lowered. This movement is adapted from “sweep and brace with palms“ from Baguazhang.

? When sweeping the leg and patting the foot, slightly lean the torso forward. Sweep the right leg from the left side of the body upward and to the right in an arc, bend the wrist and then straighten it, sweep the palms from right to left, and pat the top of the right foot. After patting the foot, bend the right knee and lift the leg to the right side of the body.
