Also known as You Chelonjian 右车轮剑(Wheel the Sword to the Right)
27.1 Turn the Body and Make a Circle with the Sword
Turn the body to the right. Turn the right toes out, and bend the right leg, with the left heel off the ground, forming a back-cross stance. At the same time, holding the sword in the right hand, make a circle with the sword and swing backhand from the right downward to the back. Lower the left sword-fingers in front of the right shoulder, palm down. Look at the sword tip. (Fig. 89 front and rear views)
Important Points
? When turning the body, first shift the body center back, turn the right toes out, and then shift the body center forward into a back-cross stance.
? When making a circle with the sword to the rear, hold the handle loosely, swing the sword straight backhand behind the body, keep the sword tip pointing toward the rear, and bring the sword back in an arc close to the body; make sure not to touch the ground with the tip of the sword.
Common Mistakes
? The right arm is turned outward, and the sword tip is hooked and stabbed to the rear.
? The head and the waist are bent, and the back is hunched.
27.2 Fig. 90Forward Step and Hold the Sword High
Fig. 90
Turn the body to the left. Move the left foot forward with the toes out. At the same time, hold the sword in the right hand, turn the arm, circle and hold the sword high above the head. Lower the left sword-fingers in front of the abdomen, turning them in an arc and then lifting them to the side of the body. Look straight ahead. (Fig. 90)
Important Points
When making a circle with the sword and lifting the sword, do not straighten the right arm, and make sure that the sword handle is a little higher than the head, the sword tip a bit lowered and pointing to the rear, without touching the body.
Common Mistakes
The sword is held too tightly, the sword is lifted with the arm straight, and the sword tip is raised.
27.3 Empty Stance and Chop
Step forward with the right foot, land the toes to form a right empty stance. At the same time, hold the sword in the right hand, make a circle and chop to the lower front, with the sword tip at the knee level and the sword and the arm aligned on the same slant. Draw a circle with the left sword-fingers upward and then lower them to the inside of the right forearm. Look to the lower front. (Fig. 91)
Important Points
? When making a circle and chopping while holding the sword in the right hand, first draw a vertical circle to the right side of the body, and then chop with the momentum to the lower front, with the power in the middle of the sword edge.
? The whole movement should be integrated and consistent; do not break it into parts or pause halfway. Do not do the first movement as a slicing up and back, but rather as a part of the vertical circular motion.
Common Mistakes
? When holding the sword in the right hand and swinging backhand downward and backward, it is easy for the sword tip to touch the ground, or slant outwards,
? When swinging the sword, a lack

of strength causes a pause halfway through the movement.
? When chopping downward, the power is not focused on the edge of the sword, and the torso leans. The sword is not in a straight line with the right arm.
